What is the difference between a project manager and a consultant?

Project managers are hands-on, directly involved in execution, and responsible for the success of a project. Consultants offer advice or support. They are more involved in the change and transformation aspect of a project. Consultants don’t create project plans, execute, monitor, control, or close out your projects. Their job is to give your employees the right tools to do these things on their own.

But sometimes, current internal staff lack the capacity or experience to successfully execute a project. Understanding that needs evolve as a project comes into focus during the planning and execution phases of a project, Sutton & Co. offers both.
